Sorry sorry sorry.

Alright, I've been having such a busy and sucky week, I completely forgot to write the reminder to extend the ballot.

So, it's now until NEXT Sunday. Around noon-ish. Sorrysorrysorry. My teachers randomly picked this week to give me hell, who knows why.

Yeah, it still needs a better name.

ANYWAY, I was kind of hoping to work on a list byyy, say, you know... midnight tomorrow, and have a final vote up Sunday whilst I do all my homework that I should have done through out vacation. HOWEVER, we only have four people who have nominated for some catogories, so I still have many, many catagories to be filled! So, please, everyone... take your time to get some nominations in!

MNIwide Awards Post

Thanks!

Episode the Second: Shady is the Watch Word

Dear Order,
You’re all going to die.
Sincerely, Brutus

Sky: Well, at least he gave us a warning.

Xxani: Should I also consider this a two weeks notice?

The Ministry of Magics wishes you don't sue us.Collapse )

I dunno, I really like awards.

But no, that’s really no introduction, so here’s the real deal.

We all have had a lot of amazing roleplays over the last few months… maybe years, if you really want to go back… and hopefully, many participated in the Ministry’s downfall. With all of this amazingness, I was just hoping for a small little competition between everyone, and also a chance for people to get recognized for their awesome roleplays.

I know, I know. Everyone’s awesome. But there has to be someone who’s just the most awesome, right?

Sooo, this is how it’s going to roll. There are going to be topics, as seen below, and everyone can nominate up to three people per a category. After a week, I’ll count up all the nominations and pick the top five nominated people and put out an official ballot. You know, all tha excessive amount of voting people do for the Oscars, or whatever.

We need a cool name like the Oscars. Something completely random. Someone suggest that in the nominations.

ANYWAY, votes will obviously be screened, so that only mods can see.

(Oh, and dead characters and other stuff can be nominated, too)

So nominate, and tell all your friends.

Ahem...

Ok, so I'm new to this whole posting to a community thing, so...bear with me. I hope I didn't screw up.

This...is a plot. Yes, a plot. A large plot. Involving all of you, if you wish it. A large, long term, plot to spice up the MNI-Universe of RP while leaving much, much, room for sub-plots. Hence, this post will be general, because we like spontaneity in RP, but we would like feedback.

Yeah. Feedback=good.

Warning: Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times.

Onward to Operation: Revenge of the SithCollapse )

*actually did condense a lot for this, even though it might not seem that way*

Please, please, please stop.

We don't know if it's intentional. We mean, when people RP characters that ignore others in any given thread. In some situations, it's perfectly all right.  Like, if your character walks into the Hog’s Head at rush hour, and another character is at the bar getting drunk—they most likely will not notice each other.  Or if someone breaks the rules/does something that isn't appropriate (Power-Playing, God-Modding, ect.)...it’s understandable why your character wouldn’t notice the other.

But in your own thread?

Or even with a planned RP, when your character has done nothing wrong?

We can honestly tell you right now that it doesn't feel good to be ignored.

And it makes the people ignored feel like their post is worth nothing. Or…surprise, surprise, not worth reading.

Just don’t do it. It’s rude.

A simple nod, a 'Bob-Joe saw Sally-Jim enter,' or even '17 people entered the bar at that point.'  ANYTHING to acknowledge someone's post.  Believe it or not, people actually take the time to sit down and write their posts. They work for it. It doesn't deserve to go ignored. They don’t deserve to go ignored. Will it really hurt you that much to respond in the slightest way to it?

And if you don't want to RP with someone, don't.  Simple as that.  We're not saying that you need to play with someone that really annoys you because you're afraid to ignore them.

You're all smart.  We're certain you can decipher the meaning.

Just please, stop.

Sincerly,

Marri and Mariam (marripossa & green-eyed-lily on MNI)

So basically I stumbled upon this pretty cool idea today for an MNI wide plot-line. To summarize it:

-The whole magical world is threatening to disintegrate
-Experimental magic causes this domino effect on the rest of the magical community
-spells, originally inert, begin to sway one way or the other
-in order to end the decay of magic both Death Eater and Ministry and Order alike ban together putting a creativity in magic that has been overlooked

I've... always wanted to post something here. I just never knew what to post, but here I am... giving this a whirl.

This is just an attempt, on my part, to compliment all of you. I've been at MNI two years (maybe?). I'm not entirely sure... but I am sure that, in my time here, everyone's grown in some way or another. We're all better roleplayers than we were before. We're all better writers. And I'd like to believe that we've all grown as people too. Our characters have grown up with us. Our characters have developed to levels that we've never planned for them to develop. They've rounded up... they've become three-dimensional. And... we've lost control of them. None of us can, with good conscience, call our characters completely 'good' or completely 'evil.' Our characters are corrupt with reality, fighting against life, facing both failure and victory. The majority of our characters started out as teenagers... and the majority of these characters have grown into full-blown adults. We've even managed to create and play characters with personalities that completely oppose our owns. Everyone else can, at least. I don't think I can ever get any of my characters to become extroverts. But... many of you guys can.

The plots, too, have grown. They've become intricate... detailed... extraordinary. Yet, somehow, they still manage to stay in the realm of believability (as much as a world of magic can stay believable). And, with these plots, the MNI world of roleplay united... and someone came up with the term "MNI-wide." More and more things are being planned. Yes... roleplay does happen in waves. There are times of inactivity and waves of activity, but that happens everywhere. People roleplay, they rest, then they roleplay again. But the roleplay is richer... longer... and more intricate than they were before. The writing is more detailed, more vivid, and more complicated than it had been in the past.

We all give and take... face losses, earn victories, and... we all enjoy it. It's fun - otherwise, we wouldn't be here. Even the youngest of us and the newest of us have learned from experience. MNI has turned into a respectable community of roleplayers because of you.

And most of you probably already know this.

But... well... I figured it'd be a good idea to write this down... and remind all of you to give yourselves a pat on the back. Because... in the US, it's Thanksgiving. And... I'd like to thank all of you for making my roleplaying experience on MNI one of the best roleplaying experiences that I've ever had.

Heh... that's all. Er... I'll go back to my little cave now....
